1. Use an injection bottle of about 10 mL as the reactor, and use a small ampoule as the container for the acid solution.
2. The jet tube is made from waste ballpoint refills. Its production process is as follows:
(1) Cut a short section of the ballpoint pen core.
(2) Insert the long needle for sewing the quilt into the refill, so that the needle tip is slightly out of the nozzle, and then quickly heat the nozzle at the edge of the flame to melt the plastic; Squeeze the mouth of the tube to seal it and just poke the tip of the needle out of the seal.
(3) Pull out the quilt needle, bake the above-mentioned refill after heating, and bend it to a right angle, then soak it in cold water to harden and fix it.
Operate
(1) Inject lye into the bottle to 3/5 of the bottle. Then put the ampoule in, and use the dropper to add the acid to the ampoule.
(2) Insert a small bamboo piece into the ampoule, and then plug the stopper.
(3) With the nozzle facing you, press the stopper with your index and middle fingers, and press the bottom of the bottle with your thumb, so that the bottle is turned upside down.
(4) After inversion, the liquid medicine is sprayed from the nozzle immediately, and the spray height is about 2m. When spraying, the bottle should be shaken slightly to accelerate the mixing of the liquid and make the liquid spray higher.
Remark
1. The lye used in the experiment can be a saturated solution of NaHCO3, and a small amount of synthetic detergent (preferably a liquid shampoo) should be filtered if there are insoluble solid particles. 5%~6% NH4HCO3 can also be used.
Acid solution with 15% H2SO4 solution. The dosage ratio of NaHCO3 and H2SO4 solution is about 5 volume: 1 volume.
2. This experimental setup has the following advantages:
(1) The device is simple and the operation is convenient.
(2) Guarantee safety ─ There will be no accidents such as bottle breakage and bottle cork opening.
(3) The amount of liquid spray is not much, which is suitable for classroom demonstration.
(4) The consumption of medicines is very small and can be used for student experiments.
